How to setup up MX records to tell google to admin our email?

We know that gmail is one of the best email providers out there, so what if we have a domain and we want google handle our email with our domail after the @. Well, is kind of simple, not that complicated that it looks. Now I’m going to show you how to configure our MX records from cPanel. Later I’ll show you how to do it in namecheap, in this case if you have a domain and not hosting.So, let’s begin. First log in on our cPanel account, then we go to Mail. There we’ll find something called MX Entry.

When we get in we’ll notice a section called “Change MX Entry”. In the field below where says “Change MX for…” we have to select our domain (if we only have one it will be selected by default, if not, we have to choose the one we want, and this we will have to do it everything we add a new MX entry, so be CAREFUL ).

Now we find something called “Priority” and here we introduce a number, later we’ll what number. Then says “to:” and here is where we are going to add the Entry we want.

And finally we clic “Change” and that is practically everything, but we are not done yet. Now we are going to see which one are the entries and their priorities.

Google says that we only need (in cPanel) introduce just one entry and just one priority, but we are going to add 3.

ENTRY : PRIORITY

ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM : 10

ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM : 20

ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM : 30

NOTE: In some cases we have to add a dot after the “COM”, will be something like “COM.” and in priority many times we can’t add 10,20,30 and in this case is valid to use 1,2,3, or another number, but remembering always that the entries need to respect the same order.

And now we are almost done, amost . We notice that everytime we introduce a MX entry, in the field below “Current MX entries” the entries get added to the corresponding domain.

In the last column says “Always Accept” and we clic “Set to Yes”

Now, yes, we are done. Remember that the changes WON’T be immediately and it could take to 48 hrs, so be pacients.
